While We Wait (For Jesus to Return) - A sermon on 1 Thessalonians 5:12-28
While We Wait: Living Faithfully Until Jesus Comes
As we wait for the return of Jesus Christ, how are we supposed to live? In 1 Thessalonians 5:12–28, Paul gives us practical instructions for living faithfully—encouraging one another, living in peace, rejoicing, praying continually, giving thanks, exercising discernment, and pursuing holiness.
But Paul ends with an important reminder: “Faithful is He who calls you, and He also will do it.” We don't live the Christian life in our own strength. We rely on Christ and trust the God who is faithful to complete His work in us.
Join Pastor John as he explores what it means to live faithfully while we wait for Jesus.

They or You? A sermon on 1 Thessalonians 5:1-11
What’s the difference between the “they” and the “you” in 1 Thessalonians 5?In this sermon, we look at Paul’s powerful contrast between those who will be caught unprepared by the coming of the Lord and those who belong to the light and are called to live awake, alert, and ready.Paul reminds us that Jesus is coming again—but we don’t know when. The question isn’t whether we can predict His return; it’s whether we are living like we believe He is coming. We’ll explore what it means to:• Live as children of the light• Stay spiritually awake and alert• Put on the breastplate of faith and love• Hold onto the hope of salvation• Encourage and build one another up• Live this life with eternity in view“For God has not destined us for wrath, but for obtaining salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ.” — 1 Thessalonians 5:9The challenge is simple: Don’t live like “they.” Live like “you”—a child of the light, waiting for Jesus.#1Thessalonians #SecondComing #JesusIsComing

The Hope That Changes Everything - 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18 - Sermon
The Hope That Changes Everything | 1 Thessalonians 4:13–18What happens when a Christian dies? And what hope do we have when we face the reality of death? In 1 Thessalonians 4:13–18, Paul reminds us that Christians grieve differently—not because we don't grieve, but because we do not grieve without hope. Our hope is built on the greatest truth of Christianity: Jesus Christ died, rose again, and is coming back. Because Christ was raised from the dead, we can have confidence that those who belong to Him will be raised as well.In this message, we look at three reasons we can live with hope:Our Hope Is Built on a Risen SaviorOur Hope Is Anchored in Christ's Certain ReturnOur Hope Ends in Eternal Fellowship with ChristThe details of Christ's return have been interpreted differently by Christians throughout history, but one truth is unmistakable: Jesus is coming again, and those who belong to Him will be with Him forever."Therefore comfort one another with these words." — 1 Thessalonians 4:18If you have experienced the loss of someone you love, are facing difficult circumstances, or simply need a reminder that this world is not our final home, I pray this message encourages you.Jesus is alive. Jesus is coming again. And our future is secure in Him.#ChristianSermon #1Thessalonians #JesusIsComing
