Introducing Neigh-bird: A podcast on neighborhood birds

After the lockdown during the COVID-19 outbreak made us pay more attention to the environment around us, we noticed that even in the middle of a metropolitan area, small green spaces can have thriving biodiversity. So, after spending months in our apartment in Gurugram, India watching birds, recording their calls and learning more about them, we are starting Neigh-bird, a podcast to share the fascinating discoveries that people have made about their winged neighbors. Whether that's on this side of the globe or the opposite.

We are a team of 2 journalists, Sanshey Biswas and Manon Verchot who are also husband and wife. We're relatively new to podcasts working with a couple of 25 dollar mics and pillows for sound proofing. In the next few weeks we'll be releasing our upcoming episodes of Neigh-bird, so let us know how it sounds and tell us about your neighborhood birds!

And don't forget to SUBSCRIBE to this podcast so the upcoming episodes show up in your feed. Here's a sneak peak of some of the topics we'll cover...

Florida turns to peregrine falcons to help with its gull problem in landfills. (see how bad the gull problem is here: https://youtu.be/x2v1bs-wLYs)

Oxtail birds help protect endangered black rhinos from poachers.

Not all birds in cuckoo order put their eggs in other birds' nests.

Was Angry Birds inspired by jungle babblers?

All this and more, coming soon.
