Die Skisprungschanze an der Hundsschüppe
Im Jahre 1932 baute der SCC-Cronenberg die Skisprungschanze auf dem benachbarten Hanggrundstück des Haus Zillertal. Am 28.02.1933 wurde die Schanze dann bei einem Schauspringen eingeweiht. Während des zweiten Weltkriegs wurde die Schanze vollständig abgerissen. Doch schon kurz nach Kriegsende wurde Sie durch die Mitglieder des SCC-Cronenberg wieder aufgebaut. 1957 wurde die Schanze weiter ausgebaut und verbessert. Unter anderem wurde ein Schanzenturm errichtet. Die Verbesserungen führten dazu, dass der deutsche Skiverband die offizielle Zulassung für die Skisportanlage vergab. In den 50er Jahren fanden dort auch regelmäßig die Niederrheinmeisterschaften statt. Am 17. Januar 1959 konnte Paul Mehling, ein Mitglied des SCC-Cronenberg, sich mit 33m den Schanzenrekord sichern. Im Laufe der 1970er Jahre wurde die Schanze aufgrund von schneearmen Wintern abgerissen. Heute ist an der Stelle, wo die Schanze einmal stand eine Gedenktafel errichtet worden.
