Tote Zonen
<p>Die folgenden Beiträge von Elisabeth Voß, Shelley Sacks, Andreas Weber und Renate Börger sind Ermutigungen – auf den zweiten Blick. Sie machen Mut, sich mit dem zu verbinden, wovor wir intuitiv zurückschrecken. Angeregt zu dieser Übung hat uns das 2013 erschienene Buch »Die Rote Blume. Ästhetische Praxis in Zeiten des Wandels« der Kulturwissenschaftlerin Hildegard Kurt und der transdisziplinären Künstlerin Shelley Sacks. Als »Tote Zonen« bezeichnen die beiden Autorinnen Situationen, in denen »der komplexe Horror unserer Zeit zutage tritt«. Dieser Horror, der uns täglich aus den Medien, auf jeder Straße und in jedem Supermarkt entgegenschlägt, legt sich in seiner Selbstverständlichkeit und Allgegenwart als kollektive Betäubung auf die gesamte Gesellschaft. »Indem wir uns sozusagen in das Phänomen hineindenken«, schreibt Hildegard Kurt, können wir »die Wahrnehmung ent-automatisieren. <p>Die Zapatistas verteidigen seit Jahrzehnten ihre subsistente Lebensweise im mexikanischen Chiapas. Vor 25 Jahren hatte Oya-Autorin Friederike Habermann sie im Lakandonischen Urwald besucht. <p>Wir zivilisierten Menschen sind einem fatalen Irrtum aufgesessen, meint der Biologe und Philosoph Andreas Weber: Tagtäglich verdrängen wir den Umstand, dass wir sterblich und somit essbar sind.
