America Can’t Pause AI: Data Centers, China, and the Fight for the Future
Happy Columbus Day, and welcome back to The Political Bomb Show.
In this episode, we break down the growing push to pause AI development and place limits on new AI data centers in the United States. Supporters of a pause argue that artificial intelligence is moving too fast and raising major concerns for the economy, education, national security, and democracy. Critics argue that slowing down now would hand a major advantage to China and weaken America in the most important technological race of the century.
We examine the political fight surrounding calls for a moratorium, the debate over data centers and energy use, and the broader question of whether the United States can afford to hit the brakes while foreign rivals keep advancing.
This episode covers:
* the push to pause AI development
* the role of data centers in America’s future
* the debate over water, land, electricity, and jobs
* China’s AI ambitions and strategic competition
* why the AI race is being framed as a national security issue

Terror in the Cockpit: How Flydubai Flight FZ1073 Nearly Ended in Disaster
On September 30, 2026, Flydubai Flight FZ1073 was traveling from Dubai to Tel Aviv with 174 passengers on board when an alleged attack inside the cockpit turned a routine flight into a near catastrophe.
In this episode of Political Bomb Show, Ra’ Sean Blyden breaks down reports surrounding co-pilot Hamam al-Hammami, who allegedly attacked Captain Smit Machchhar with an emergency axe while the aircraft was over Jordan. The plane reportedly plunged thousands of feet as the wounded captain fought back, opened the cockpit door, and allowed passengers to help restrain the attacker. A reserve pilot then took control, and the aircraft eventually landed safely in Tabuk, Saudi Arabia.
But the attempted attack raises much larger questions.
Reports indicate al-Hammami had previously been grounded by Omani authorities after concerns about extremist material and online activity. He later joined Flydubai, apparently without those concerns preventing him from returning to the cockpit. Additional reporting also claims he had considered carrying out an earlier attack on another Tel Aviv flight before abandoning the plan.
This episode examines the alleged attack, the actions that saved 174 lives, and the serious questions surrounding airline vetting, international intelligence sharing, security screening, and how someone previously viewed as a potential security risk was reportedly able to return to commercial aviation.
At the center of the story is Captain Smit Machchhar, who continued fighting despite serious injuries and helped give the passengers and crew the opportunity to stop the attack.
174 people survived.
Now the question is how the system allowed the situation to develop in the first place.
Political Bomb Show looks beyond the headline and examines the failures, unanswered questions, and accountability surrounding Flydubai Flight FZ1073.
