Praying Congregationally
The sermon emphasizes the critical importance and spiritual power of congregational prayer, particularly in times of persecution and personal affliction. Drawing primarily from Acts chapter 12, it illustrates how the early church responded to Peter's imprisonment not with fear or retaliation, but with ceaseless, specific, and united prayer. The message highlights that true strength comes from recognizing human dependency on Christ rather than self-reliance, urging believers to approach God with honesty and humility. Additionally, the preacher connects this practice to Nehemiah chapter 9, showing how remembering God's past faithfulness and confessing sin leads to revival and renewed covenant commitment. Ultimately, the call is for the church to remain deeply connected to God through prayer, allowing His power to work through their collective dependence.

Why 1 John 5.7–8 is in the Bible
The view on 1 John 5.7–8 through the centuries, held by many godly men, has been that the passage and its testimony of the Trinity by every right must maintain its place in the Scriptures. However, more recently, some have argued against the inclusion of the passage, many Bible translations have omitted it without mention, and some preachers have omitted the passage to avoid controversy. This article, though technical in places, defends the authenticity of this passage, commonly referred to as the Johannine Comma. A Word for the Ministers of the Covenant
Having focused upon the people of God generally, (Isaiah 40:12-31), we now turn to the Leaders, the preachers of the new covenant, (Jeremiah 31:31-34; Hebrews 10:16-18). They also must not faint nor lost heart. They must Keep Preaching the true word, not handling it deceitfully. In all their trials, perplexity and persecution they must Keep Depending upon the power of God. Even when the body is wasting away they must Keep Focusing upon the things which are eternal. Our pain is by comparison with eternity, "but for a moment."
