Bienvenides a Queer Up, el podcast en el que hablamos de la intersección del arte y cultura con la comunidad LGBT+ a lo largo de la historia. Mi nombre es Héctor Mendoza y mi nombre es Majo Álvarez. El episodio del día de hoy lleva como nombre “Arte y Protesta”, en él discutiremos cómo distintas manifestaciones de arte principalmente del siglo XX han formado parte esencial en el proceso de visibilización de diferentes causas y problemas sociales. Mencionaremos múltiples ejemplos en los que gente queer utilizó el arte para expresar inconformidades, generar consciencia de sucesos relevantes y para alzarse ante la adversidad. Como respuesta directa a una sociedad represiva y regresiva, el arte se convirtió en un canal en el que la gente queer podía conectarse y expresarse. Desató una nueva corriente de contracultura que hasta la fecha sigue creciendo y floreciendo.
