The Law and the Gospel: The Center, Sum, and Substance of Divine Revelation | John Colquhoun
In this episode, we dive deep into a powerful excerpt from John Colquhoun’s classic The Law and the Gospel, where he states that law and gospel are the “center, sum, and substance of all the other parts” of Scripture. What does that mean for how we read the Bible, understand redemptive history, and live the Christian life?
Through theological reflection and pastoral application, we explore how every passage of Scripture and every human life falls along the twin lines of conformity to the moral law and belief or disbelief in the gospel. Drawing from Romans, Galatians, and the wisdom of the Puritans, this teaching will help you rightly divide the Word of Truth—and rejoice more deeply in the finished work of Christ.
