This week, listen as our guest preacher, Alex Stewart preaches 1 Samuel 16. The kingly status of Israel seems shaky, but God has a new king chosen for his people. A king that isn't what the people would expect to be a fit king but a king that is fit in the heart though not fit in stature.

1 Samuel 15:1-35
In 1 Samuel 15, Saul’s failure to obey God’s commands reveals the danger of selective obedience and the consequences of rejecting His Word. This passage reminds us that partial obedience is still disobedience, worship can never replace faithfulness, and repentance must be our response when confronted with sin. God desires for His people to carefully hear and obey His Word.

1 Samuel 10:17-14:52
Saul’s reign begins with promise. Empowered by the Spirit of God, he leads Israel to victory, shows mercy to his enemies, and gives glory to the Lord. But his fruitful beginning quickly fades as Saul begins trusting his own wisdom, acting impatiently, and rejecting the Word of God. In 1 Samuel 10–14, Saul’s rise and fall reminds us that the Spirit of God distinguishes God’s people and rejecting His leading ultimately leads to ruin. The Christian life is not sustained by our own strength, wisdom, or plans, but by walking in dependence upon the Spirit and obedience to the Word of God.
