ثبات الإمام أحمد
قال الرافعي في وحي القلم عن ثبات الإمام أحمد بن حنبل رضي الله عنه في فتنة خلق القرآن :"وكنت لا أزال أعجب من صبر شيخنا أحمد بن حنبل، وقد ضرب بين يدي المعتصم بالسياط حتى غُشيَ عليه فلم يتحول عن رأيه؛ فعلمت الآن .... أنه لم يجعل من نفسه للضرب معنى الضرب، ولا عرف للصبر معنى الصبر الآدمي؛ ولو هو صبر على هذا صبر الإنسان لجزع وتحول، ولو ضرب ضرب الإنسان لتألم وتغير؛ ولكنه وضع في نفسه معنى ثبات السنة وبقاء الدين، وأنه هو الأمة كلها لا أحمد بن حنبل, فلو تحول لتحول الناس، ولو ابتدع لابتدعوا؛ فكان صبره صبر أمة كاملة لا صبر رجل فرد، وكان يضرب بالسياط ونفسه فوق معنى الضرب، فلو قرضوه بالمقاريض ونشروه بالمناشير لما نالوا منه شيئا؛ إذ لم يكن جسمه إلا ثوبا عليه، وكان الرجل هو الفكر ليس غير. هؤلاء قوم لا يرون فضائلهم فضائل، ولكنهم يرونها أمانات قد ائتمنوا عليها من الله لتبقى بهم معانيها في هذه الدنيا؛ فهم يزرعون في الأمم زرعا بيد الله، ولا يملك الزرع غير طبيعته، وما كان المعتصم وهو يريد شيخنا على غير رأيه وعقيدته إلا كالأحمق يقول لشجرة التفاح: أثمري غير التفاح".

حديث أخذ المال بغير حق
عن أبي هريرة -رضي الله عنه- أن رجلا جاء إلى رسول الله - صلى الله عليه وسلم - فقال : يا رسول الله أرأيت إن جاء رجل يريد أخذ مالي؟ قال: "فلا تعطه مالك." قال : أرأيت إن قاتلني؟ قال: "قاتله." قال: أرأيت إن قتلني؟ قال: "فأنت شهيد." قال: أرأيت إن قتلته؟ قال: "هو في النار. " رواه مسلم
