Queer Therapists Talk Wayward
Episode 5 -"Build” Fabulous and nerdy queer/trans psychotherapists Avery (they/them) and Em (they/them), team up to deep dive into the psychology of Netflix's Limited Series Wayward starring Mae Martin. They discuss major themes in the show like the mother wound, queer/trans representation, filming production elements, and seek to answer big questions like "what's really going on with all that brie?" Each episode invites a guest for even more nerdy cuteness. Meg McDaniel is a Marriage and Family Therapist Associate who works with children, teens, young adults, and older adults. Meg joins them to discuss Episode 5 “Build.” Meg McDaniel (MEEd, MCP; she/they/siya) is a multicultural, neurospicy, 2nd generation Euro-Filipino American associate therapist who works with children, teens, young adults, and older adults (who are all just big kids too right?) She specializes in working with individuals in family systems that include divorce, remarriage, blending families, newly-diagnosed neurodiversity, and adoption. She has facilitated and led small and large groups as an elementary and middle school teacher, international school principal, and nonprofit executive over the past 15 years. Most recently, she is teaching Group Dynamics and Integrative Seminar at the graduate level at CIIS. In her free time, she is likely surfing, foraging for mussels at low tide, or laying in the sunshine with her dog, Wilson. She may also be working on a new and exciting hobby that she will surely enjoy and eventually abandon in six weeks’ time. She is a professional photographer and graphic designer who loves supporting early-career therapists establish their "brand." https://www.megmcdaniel.com/about https://www.seamevisuals.com/ Also in this ep-Em can't stop talking about the app "Does The Dog Die?" which they think everyone should download for free.https://www.doesthedogdie.com/ #waywardnetflix, #maemartin, #queertherapiststalkwayward
