Episode 17: MIND OVER MOUNTAIN!

Kristian Jorgensen ran his best UTMB performance to date at the TDS 2022, ranking 15th among his competitions. We might think it is because everything went well with his run but it wasn’t. He ran the first part of the race with a rolled ankle and at the halfway he rolled the other one, causing the event medics to almost force him to stop his race.

This same horrific experience also happened with Kristian during his infamous balls incident during the Hongkong 4 Trails Ultra Challenge (HK4TUC). HK4TUC is a self-supported 298 kilometer challenge in HK where he finished first among fellow survivors in 55 hours, making him the 7th person to finish the whole route under the 60 hours challenge during that edition. He made a mistake of shaving a few days before causing him bad chafing at the first part of the race and to go on commando, literally just wearing the T8 Commando Underwear until it was comfortable enough wear shorts.

For Kristian, his success is born out of his desire to RUN because he wants to RUN. He doesn’t consider his activities as training for a race or racing to podium.

He shared that he just keeps running since he started in the sports - his improved performance and elite looking physique and record breaking performances followed.

Kristian is a Danish staying in the Philippines for more than a decade with his family and two kids. He love the Philippines so much and he wishes the Philippine trail running community unites and works together for improvement for it to flourish and bring out the better athletes in everyone.

We enjoyed this conversation so much and got inspired to hop on to the nearest trails and just RUN.

Join the Race Ya community at [raceya.fit](https://raceya.fit)

For events and activities REGISTER (raceya.fit)

For your sports needs: Home - Shop at Raceyaya

Kristian's TDS by UTMB Shorts and Commando is available here T8 - Shop at Raceyaya

Kristian's nutrition choice is available here Tailwind Nutrition - Shop at Raceyaya

Hosted on Acast. Episode 16: FINDING GREATNESS THROUGH SPORTS

In this episode, we had a deep and exciting conversation with John Aguilar.

John is a serial entrepreneur; a producer and host in CNN Philippines for the Final Pitch (The Final Pitch – The first business reality tv show in the Philippines.) as host and for Philippine Realty TV as producer. You can listen to his podcast at Methods to Greatness. He is also an author and is indeed a game-changer in whatever he is into.

Sports, early on in his growing up years as an athletics varsity player later on as training pool for a potential stint in the SEA Games prior to retiring, taught John to take the cards we have to deal with and maximize that chance. This, he believes molded him into his own path to greatness. Even with a busy schedule as he started his media career and left the training team, John stayed the course and stayed active. He shared it’s all about balance and knowing that at some point there could be imbalance in your priorities.

He recently bagged the bronze medal in the Ninja World Cup100 – Leg 1 by the World Obstacle Federation, organized by the Pilipinas Obstacle Federation - an event that is the first in the world giving its competitors a first-hand taste of the obstacles ahead. Competitors had to go through a 100-meter Ninja course with 15 obstacles.

During the event, a penalty cost him around 20 seconds and he had to take a dive, executing a move called lachet that he hasn’t done in practice. This would make up and keep him in the running for a medal. He took the risk, faced what’s in front of him and nailed his spot in the podium.

His recent performance showed how you can achieve greatness in sports. Always go for that chance; leaving you with no regret. And this applies as well to how you deal with the other aspects of life.

In the episode, John also shared about how the sports OCR Ninja is growing and how it deserves to be given more attention with all the accolades it has achieved. Listen to this episode as John makes his Final Pitch for the sports of OCR Ninja.

We hope you get inspired to find your greatness through sports in this episode, we surely did!

Join the Race Ya community at [raceya.fit](https://raceya.fit)

For events and activities REGISTER (raceya.fit)

For your sports needs: Home - Shop at Raceyaya

Hosted on Acast. Episode 15: RACING AND TRAINING WITH YOUR SIBLINGS

Doing sports as siblings may mean competition especially when you’re growing up. But that’s not the case for our guest(S) in this episode, the identical twin brothers of triathlon – Kevlin and Elvin Sanchez.

The twin brothers have always been active in sports growing up but would take different paths and ends up being fond of different sports as they went into their own careers; Kelvin as a medical technologist and Elvin as a nurse.

It was not until after a year of Kelvin doing triathlon that Elvin decided to try the sports, gradually doing short distance races. It was easy for them as they came from a family who started swimming and joining competitive races together with their 3 older sisters when they were kids.

When Elvin saw Kelvin cross the Ironman Philippines finish line in 2022, it made him believe that he can be an Ironman himself, too. And Kelvin helped and swam, bike, ran with Elvin in training until they toe the starting line of the Ironman 70.3 Cebu.

Listen to this episode and be double inspired by two stories – same look, same voice, same sports but different journey to the Ironman finish line.

Join the Race Ya community at https://raceya.fit

For triathlon events REGISTER (raceya.fit)

For your triathlon needs: Home - Shop at Raceyaya

Hosted on Acast.
