Formal Project Reflection
Hi, I am Isaac and this is my reflection on my team’s final project/ collaborate website on racial injustice and protesting in sports. So for our ethos. We establish it by detailing a vivid characteristic of the people that experience injustice a lot. For example, we talked about people of color like George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, and many others that were unjustifiably killed at the hands of police officers. And how it encourages athletes to stand up and protest or even use their platform to raise awareness. We approach this issue in a sense to inform as well as educate our audience on the struggle that athletes who chose to protest against public issues go through. We provided an interview of an athlete in the primary research section of our website. It was one way that we assured our audience about the seriousness of the matter. Also, we used pictures of athletes protesting throughout the website to give a sense that they are working together to eradicate the issue even though they face consequences like suspension and others along that line. Taking a step back, I chose the topic because racial injustice has been around for quite some time now and it is intriguing to see athletes standing up against it. In the beginning, though, I didn’t really understand the details of the topic. I mistook it for racial injustice in sports so that was a bit of an obstacle. However, as time went by, I learned that athletes being punished for protesting was the main point of our website. Our team dynamic was good. We were able to manage our time and work within due dates, even though most of our work were done individually. My experience with this team definitely will change the way I communicate with future group members on projects. Though I feel that Covid-19 impacted that aspect of our project. Had it been in-person, we would have been forced to at least host meetings regularly.
