Poor Man's Prayer
<p>We are delighted to present the launch of Poor Man's Prayer by pianist, singer, guitarist and songwriter Abdal-Lateef!<br> <br> The EP has a history that reaches back to his years as a musician in Jazz, Mod and Psychedelic Rock bands of the 1960s, to his coming across Sufism in 1970. <p>Muneera Pilgrim is a British Muslim poetess extraordinaire with a radically authentic voice and a laugh you will want to listen to for days!</p> <p><br></p> <p>In the inaugural Raise Karma podcast, we chat candidly about poetry as a means of understanding ourselves, the world and the Divine, finding connections with people and realising our purpose.</p> <p><br></p> <p>“For me, the future is really about connection. How can people connect, how can [poetry] be accessible to people and be useful in their lives? How can poetry help me to connect with other human beings, to learn about myself, to learn about the world and the Creator?”</p> <p><br></p> <p>We also talk about how poetry has the power to center marginalized voices, celebrate ourselves, and practise self-care, while also being a way of challenging our egos. </p> <p><br></p> <p>We’d love to hear what you think!
