<p>Before the Covid-19 pandemic, in 2019, it was found that over the course of her lifetime, 1 in 3 women worldwide suffered from violence based on her gender. The situation has only deteriorated since then, as national restrictions associated with the pandemic have unavoidably caused an increase in gender-based violence at home. <br> <br> In the face of such a high likelihood of experiencing violence, women’s safety is highly dependent on actions taken by governments to prevent violence and protect those at risk.
