Choosing The Right Community

<p>When looking to downsize in your retirement years, choosing the right housing community to match your wants and needs is so important. In this episode, your host Tom Garuccio, and Myrtle Beach Realtor Brendan D'Anna talk about what to look for when choosing the perfect community to downsize in retirement! </p> <p>Remember, you can change your house, but you can't change your neighborhood. Don't hesitate to start your research long before you're ready to buy. Especially if you're moving out of state.</p> <p>Where do you want to live during your retirement? Sure, Florida is a popular (and warm!) destination. But, how about the east coast?</p> <p>A lot of buyers are so hesitant to start talking to relators before they're anywhere near ready to buy. But, Tom and Brendan say you don't have to be! A good realtor knows the value of building relationships with their clients, and sometimes, that means connecting a year or two before you're even ready to make your move. For example, Brendan works in Myrtle Beach. Sometimes when a couple is vacationing there, they'll contact Brendan to tour the area and learn about potential communities where they could live. Brendan stays in contact with these couples - answering questions and addressing concerns, long after they've left. Then, when they're finally ready to downsize and relocate, they're armed with all the info they need and a realtor they've already built a relationship with. </p> <p>It's never too early to start researching and planning!</p> <p>Final thought - when you're downsizing for retirement and looking to relocate to a different state, don't just assume that one location is the best because "everyone goes there." Take some trips. Visit some destinations.
