Feudalismo foi a estrutura da organização socioeconômica da Europa Centro-Ocidental durante a Idade Média.  Feudalismo é o nome dado à forma de organização econômica e social vivenciada na Europa Centro-Ocidental durante o período histórico conhecido como Idade Média, entre os séculos V e XV. O nome é derivado dos feudos (ou vilas), as unidades de habitação e produção que eram características do período. Essas grandes propriedades agrárias demonstraram que houve um processo de ruralização da sociedade que habitava o continente europeu e as ilhas Britânicas, bem como uma passagem da organização do trabalho pautada no escravismo para a servidão.

Povos germânicos e Árabes.
A concepção de povos bárbaros surgiu na Grécia Antiga, sendo usada inicialmente para referir-se a povos que falavam línguas ininteligíveis para os gregos. Com o tempo, o termo passou a ser associado com uma noção etnocêntrica que classificava o outro, o estrangeiro, como selvagem, inculto e incivilizado. O termo foi apropriado pelos romanos, que enxergavam como bárbaros todos aqueles que não praticavam a cultura greco-romana. Na história romana, os povos germânicos ficaram muito conhecidos como bárbaros. Esses povos foram fundamentais na crise que colocou fim no Império Romano do Ocidente, no século V.
