<p>King Ahab has previous experience of God giving him everything he needs when He assured him of victory in 1 Kings 20, saying ‘I will deliver this vast army into your hands and you will know that I am the Lord.’ So Ahab should have had a real sense of confidence…but he wants something more. Why?</p> <p>Do we ever chase after things that aren’t necessarily what God has in mind for us to be able fulfil His purposes in our lives. Do we trust God – resting what He has said? Or do we chase after more.., whether it’s money, status, possessions and so on.</p> <p>It’s not wrong to express our desires… but as the apostle Paul says in Philippians 4:12-13 I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want.
