2: Pau pels fatigats
En el capítol 2 de Rut veiem la providència de Déu en acció, veiem l'honor per aquells que posen la confiança en Ell i la consequent adoració per la bondat de Déu. Podríem dir que el temps anual d’Advent ens crida d’alguna manera a reconèixer 1) la cura providencial del nostre Rei a les nostres vides [vv. 1–3], 2) a buscar descans i seguretat només en Ell [4–13], 3) i a celebrar —lloar-lo per la seva bondat [vv. 14–23]. Com celebraràs tu l’Advent i el Nadal? Que sigui amb les paraules de la Noemí: «Beneït sigui el Senyor, que no ens ha deixat sense Redemptor!»

1: Esperança per als penedits
Rut és una moabita que ha experimentat una transformació espiritual, s’ha convertit de l’adoració dels ídols per servir el Déu vivent i veritable. A través de Noemí, Déu fa tornar Rut al seu poble. La seva llar ha canviat i aquesta moabita vol viure com a ciutadana del regne del Déu d’Israel. La història ens mostra que Déu pot cridar qualsevol, no importa la vida anterior, l’origen o el nivell de familiaritat amb la Bíblia… Noemí i Ruth finalment arriben a Betlem, una arribada que apunta a l’esperança, ja que és l’inici de la temporada de sega. S’enfronten a la realitat del pecat i, tanmateix, troben l’esperança d’una nova vida en Déu.
