<p>In this episode of SAAS Sounds, we sit down with Dr. Herb Chen, Chair of Surgery at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) and SAAS Foundation President, to explore the profound impact of his parents, Hong Mo and Hsi Mei Chen, on his life and career. Dr. Chen shares the inspiring story of his parents' journey, and how their legacy influenced his path to becoming a leader in academic surgery. His SAAS Visiting Professorship is named after his parents, and was hosted at University of South Florida in the 2018-2019 academic year and Dartmouth in the 2023-2024 academic year. </p>
