End‑of‑Year CTA: Holding Ourselves Through Christmas #12
This isn’t a festive recap. It’s a pause.
Christmas amplifies everything—grief, loneliness, pressure, expectation. For many, this season is not soft lights and warmth but survival. Mental health crises spike every December, and millions feel more isolated, not less. If that’s you, you’re not failing. You’re human.

Trans Mental Health and Advocacy #10
Welcome to Sigil the Unquiet. Today we confront a dangerous moment: the UK government is considering guidance that could exclude trans people from single-sex spaces. The Royal College of Psychiatrists warns this poses significant risks to mental health. Advocacy must rise to meet this threat.

Men’s mental health — breaking the endurance myth #8
Men are told to carry the sky in silence. To endure without complaint. To “man up.” But the numbers tell a different story: suicide remains the leading cause of death for men under 50 in the UK, over half of men admit ignoring worrying health issues, and nearly a quarter say they would never seek professional mental health support. The cost of this silence is staggering—mental ill health drains an estimated £300 billion from England’s economy each year.

The Illusion of Erasure: EMDR, Trauma, and the myth of Resolution #7
In this mythic, survivor-led episode, Toren Ylfa dismantles the seductive promise of EMDR therapy: that trauma can be “resolved,” “cleared,” or even “removed.” With fierce clarity and ADHD-informed nuance, they explore how EMDR’s linear model clashes with nonlinear memory, emotional intensity, and the lived reality of neurodivergent survivors.
From the clinical risks to the cultural gaslighting, this episode challenges the idea that healing means forgetting—and offers a powerful alternative: survivor-led clarity, agency, and remembrance with fire.
Whether you’ve been offered EMDR, felt erased by its framing, or are seeking therapies that honor your rhythm, this episode is a call to reclaim your story.
🜛 We don’t do tidy here. We do mythic. We do clarity that burns.

Pain is not a crime #5
Before suicide was a diagnosis, it was a decision. In ancient Rome, it was a philosophical exit—Seneca drank poison with dignity. In Japan, seppuku was ritualized honor. These weren’t cries for help. They were statements of control, of legacy, of defiance. Then came the church. Suicide became sin. A crime against God. Bodies denied burial. Families shamed. That shift didn’t just change theology—it rewrote the social contract. Pain became taboo. Death became punishment. And the people most in need of compassion were cast out.
We inherited that silence. And we’re still paying for it.

The Quiet Armour: How We Survive Before We Heal #4
Opening Invocation (Tone: Mythic, Defiant, Intimate)
“Before we name the wound, we name the armor. Before we speak of suicide, we speak of survival.
This is not a soft episode. It’s a scalpel.
For every neurodivergent soul who was called lazy, dramatic, or broken—this is for you. For every survivor who wore perfectionism like chainmail, who learned to smile with a clenched jaw this is for you.
We don’t start with healing. We start with the battlefield.
Welcome to The Quiet Rebellion. Let’s name the armor.”

Beneath the Edge #3
This is The Quiet Rebellion.
We gather here—not in silence, but in defiance. Beneath the edge lies a truth too many fears to name. A truth wrapped in stigma, buried in shame, and whispered only when it’s too late. Suicide is not a failure of strength. It is a consequence of isolation, of systems that punish pain, of cultures that criminalize vulnerability. Today, we do not flinch. We do not sanitize. We do not look away.
We trace the evolution of suicide from ritual to repression, from silence to strategy. We name the myths. We challenge the frameworks. We listen to the echoes of those who’ve stood at the brink—and those who’ve returned. This episode is not a warning. It is a reckoning. You are not alone. You are not broken. You are not beyond saving. This is The Quiet Rebellion. And today, we speak from beneath the edge.

Rituals of Resistance With Jolene Ironside #2
Welcome to The Quiet Rebellion.
Today, we speak of rituals, not the kind found in textbooks, but the ones carved into our bones. This episode is personal. I’m neurodivergent. I’ve masked, fragmented, and rebuilt myself more times than I can count.
And I’m joined by Jolene Ironside, a therapist whose work lives at the intersection of neurodivergence, trauma, and systemic reform. This is not a safe space; it’s a sacred one.

The Mask and The Mirror #1
Welcome to The Quiet Rebellion, where silence speaks, stories heal, and truth refuses to stay buried.
In our first episode, we peel back the layers of performance, protection, and persona. The Mask and the Mirror explores the tension between who we show the world and who we are when no one’s watching. Through personal reflection, mythic metaphor, and raw conversation, we confront the masks we wear to survive—and the mirrors that demand we see ourselves clearly.
This isn’t just a podcast. It’s a reckoning. A sanctuary for the defiant, the tender, and the quietly radical.
