Orang Malang Suka Membantah
Ikuti tur dalam satu jam menuju Malang pada masa lampau hingga masa kini bersama @arrset_. Kata Malang diduga berasal dari nama sebuah bangunan suci yaitu Malangkucecwara yang artinya "Tuhan menghancurkan yang bathil". Nama tersebut tertulis dalam dua prasasti Raja Balitung dari Jawa Tengah, yakni Prasasti Mantyasih tahun 907 dan prasasti tahun 908 yang ditemukan di satu tempat antara Surabaya-Malang. Pendapat lain mengatakan, nama Malang berasal dari peristiwa di zaman Kerajaan Mataram, karena ada aksi "membantah" atau "menghalang-halangi" (dalam bahasa Jawa berarti Malang). Alkisah, Sunan Mataram yang ingin meluaskan pengaruhnya ke Jawa Timur, mencoba menduduki daerah Malang. Namun penduduk setempat melakukan perlawanan hingga terjadilah perang yang cukup hebat.
