Episode 4 - Christmas Ghosts and Gifts

Christmas has a way of inviting ghosts to the table. Old streets. Old houses. Old voices we still expect to hear. In this episode, Derek returns to his hometown and takes listeners on a walk through the places where memory still lives—exploring how time changes landscapes, relationships, and us. Rather than pushing grief away, this conversation makes space for it. Because the emptiness we feel at Christmastime isn’t proof that something is wrong—it’s proof that something deeply good once existed there. Through reflection, personal storytelling, and the lens of 7th Seal Coaching, this episode reframes grief as evidence of love, connection, and meaning. The memories may ache, but they are also gifts—reminders that we lived, belonged, and were shaped by something real. If Christmas feels heavier this year, this episode offers a quiet companion and a message of hope: it wouldn’t hurt this much if it hadn’t been that good.

Episode 1 - Welcome to 7th Seal Coaching Services

The Story Behind 7th Seal Coaching Services It was just another day, or so I thought. I had music playing in the background as I went about my routine, lost in the familiar notes of Van Halen’s Balance album. I’d heard these songs countless times, but that day, something was different. When The Seventh Seal came on, something in me stirred. Maybe it was timing, maybe it was fate. Either way, I found myself stopping everything and really listening—not just hearing, but listening. For the first time, I looked up the lyrics, reading them as the song played, and suddenly, they hit differently. I knew that Eddie Van Halen had written this song at a pivotal moment in his life. He was newly sober, facing the raw reality of life without the haze of addiction. Through the help of his therapist, he had been encouraged to take stock of where he was, who he was, and what lay ahead. Maybe he was finding faith, maybe he was still struggling—either way, the song carried a weight that resonated with me on a deep level. Sobriety isn’t just about quitting a substance. It’s about rediscovering yourself, feeling things you once numbed, confronting emotions that had been buried. It’s about learning how to navigate life with clarity, and that’s not always easy. Eddie’s lyrics reflected the battle—the hope, the uncertainty, the need for something greater to guide him through. This is the beginning of 7th Seal Coaching Services.
