Biblical studies, taught plainly. No agenda, no denomination — just the text, read carefully and in its own context.
The Berean Post works through books of the Bible a passage at a time, asking what the writer actually said, what it meant to the people who first heard it, and what that means for reading it now. Historical background where it helps. Original languages where they matter. Plain English throughout — you shouldn't need a seminary degree to read your own Bible.
Named for the Bereans of Acts 17:11, who received the word readily and then went and checked it for themselves.
Currently working through the book of Daniel: forty-four weeks, one block of verses at a time, beginning with the narrative before touching a single vision.
Hosted by Dwaine Senechal. Written studies and the full archive at bereanpost.ca (http://bereanpost.ca).
Welcome to The Berean Post, where we take Bible study seriously — just like the Bereans Paul commended in Acts 17:11. In today’s study, we’re looking at Mark 6:30–44, the miraculous feeding of the five thousand — a moment that reveals Jesus as the true Shepherd who both teaches and provides. Here, we don’t defend denominations — we divide Scripture rightly. We dig into the text the way the first hearers would have understood it, so we can faithfully apply it to our lives today. 🔍 In This Episode: The apostles return from their mission and find rest in Jesus The compassion of Christ for the lost and weary How the miracle points back to Moses and forward to the Messiah What this passage reveals about Jesus’ identity and our faith

Ep 16 Mark 6:14-29 Party of Death
Herod threw a banquet meant for celebration… but it ended in tragedy. In this shocking moment from the Gospel of Mark, pride, lust, and fear collide — and a prophet of God loses his life. Yet even in Herod’s dark palace, God’s Kingdom is still quietly advancing.
This is more than just a story of power and corruption — it’s a reminder that truth is costly, courage matters, and God’s justice never sleeps.

Ep. 15 Mark 6:7–13 — Sent With Nothing but Authority
Sent With Nothing but Authority | Mark 6:7–13 | Studies in the Gospel of Mark (Ep. 15) Jesus sends the Twelve into the villages with almost nothing. No bag. No money. No bread. Not even a spare tunic. Just the sandals on their feet, a staff in hand, a jar of oil, and His authority. Mark’s account of this sending raises big questions: Why were they told to travel light? Why does Mark say they could take a staff and sandals, while Matthew and Luke forbid them? What did it mean to shake the dust off their feet? And why would Jesus say it will be more tolerable for Sodom and Gomorrah in the judgment than for towns that reject His messengers? In this episode, we’ll step into that moment with the disciples, wrestle with the so-called contradiction between the Gospels, and explore the weight of Jesus’ warning. We’ll also compare His instructions with the Didache — one of the earliest Christian writings — and contrast it with the way many modern “apostles” travel today.
