   Canadianism: Define it.

The other day I received a comment on one of my posts that made me stop and think. I may have been wrong about Canadianism. I spent some time with the argument. And the further I followed it, the more I realized the conversation hadn’t undermined Canadianism at all. It may have made the case for it stronger.

   Something Changed in Canada

Something changed in Canada. Not all at once. Not with one election, one government, or one crisis. It happened gradually. The middle started getting harder to hold onto. The ordinary life many Canadians expected to be able to build became less certain, while the political space between the loudest sides seemed to narrow at the same time. This video is about that realization. About paying attention long enough to see that different pressures were starting to form the same pattern. The country hasn’t failed. But something has shifted. #Canada #CanadianPolitics #MiddleClass #CanadianLife #TheCanadianist

The Canadianist Manifesto: Canada, As We Are

I’ve said for some time that what I was building would eventually reveal itself. That day is now. The centre has arrived. The United Canadian Centrist Party is building toward 2029 with a different proposition for the country: not to split the difference, but to rethink the frame. This is the beginning. Canada Is Not Broken. It Has Changed.

Canada was never a two-column country. And it isn’t broken. It has changed. We are a federation stretched across a continent. Different regions. Different economies. Two official languages. Indigenous nations. Generations of newcomers from every part of the world. That complexity is not a problem to solve. It is Canada, as we are. Yet our politics increasingly compresses all of it into two columns. Pick a side. Wear the colour. Defend the team. That does not reflect the country we actually live in. The United Canadian Centrist Party was not created to find a comfortable position somewhere between those two columns. We are challenging the assumption that this country belongs in two columns at all. UCC Party | Canada, as we are. Millions of Canadians Feel Politically Homeless.

Why does the United Canadian Centrists Party exist? Because millions of Canadians feel politically homeless. That's Why. In this episode, Christopher M. Michaud explains why so many Canadians no longer see themselves reflected in the political choices in front of them, why the problem runs deeper than any one party, and why the UCC Party believes Canada needs a national modernization initiative built for the country we are today. Canada is not broken. It has drifted. uccparty.ca (https://uccparty.ca)

If You Don’t Fit Left or Right, This Is for You

Canada doesn’t need another political team shouting from the sidelines. It needs Canadians talking to each other again. In this Leader’s Message, Christopher M. Michaud explains why the United Canadian Centrist Party is being built and extends an invitation to Canadians who feel politically homeless, unheard, or simply tired of being forced to choose between two political camps. On September 16, we’re opening that conversation with our first Virtual Town Hall. Come listen. Come disagree. Tell us what we’re missing. Bring your own ideas and help shape what this party becomes. You don’t have to agree with us on everything. That’s the point. The Town Hall is open to Canadians who want a serious conversation about our country, where it’s heading, and what we can build together. Register for the September 16 Virtual Town Hall using the link in the description. Join us and be heard. Christopher M. UCC EPISODE 1 | WHY WE ARE HERE

Episode Description Canada's democracy isn't broken, but is it still working the way it should? In this episode of Canadianism, Christopher M. Michaud explores one of the biggest questions facing the country: does our electoral system still reflect the Canada we are today? He explains why millions of Canadians feel their votes don't count, how first-past-the-post creates what he calls "artificial majorities," and why election maps often tell a misleading story about regional division. Christopher also introduces the Michaud Method, a practical proposal for modernizing Canada's democracy while preserving local representation. Rather than tearing down the current system, he argues for building on what already works so that Parliament more accurately reflects how Canadians actually vote. If you've ever wondered why governments keep changing while the same problems keep returning, this conversation offers a different way of looking at the issue. Based on the book Democracy Renewed: The Case for Electoral Reform in Canada by Christopher M. Michaud.
