One Song. One Month. One Story.
Unravelling Soundwaves returns in a new form: short monthly stories about the songs that enter our lives and somehow begin to tell them. Each episode explores one song-its story, a few words, a musical detail, and what it leaves behind.
February #26: This is The Last Time by The National
What happens when pain begins to loosen its grip?
February’s song is “This Is the Last Time” by The National—a song I heard when I had reached almost the fullest expression of a pain I had been carrying for months. For me, it became a song about the moment when pain is still present, but no longer feels permanent.
When something inside us begins to rise, and we start discovering who we have become through the experience. Perhaps transformation does not begin when pain disappears. Perhaps it begins when we finally integrate it into our story—without allowing it to define the whole of who we are. It was not the last time I remembered that pain. It was the last time it owned me.
You’ll find a link to the song in the show notes below.

January #26: Stolen Car by Beth Orton
What happens when words stop matching reality?
January’s song is “Stolen Car” by Beth Orton—a song I discovered by chance and listened to again and again while walking through the cold January wind. For me, it became a song about the moment when appearances begin to fall apart.
When words, intentions and actions no longer tell the same story. When you look back and ask yourself: shouldn’t I have known better by now? But perhaps awareness does not arrive late. Perhaps it arrives precisely when we are finally able to see.

EP 35 Sound Shifters “Atmosfere rarefatte”
🎧 Disponibile su Spotify, Amazon Music, Apple Podcasts e Spreaker.
