Visualise This is a series of short, creativity-stretching exercises using only words to fully immerse you in a world of pure imagination. If you enjoy these episodes, please share them and spread the word.
This is not really a visualisation, but I wanted to post it anyway. It's a fun little parody sketch I wrote and recorded years ago in 2016, but haven't fully sound engineered until now. Support the Show.

Cast a powerful fireball spell in this immersive audio experience
If you've played D&D, the most popular tabletop roleplaying game in the world, you've probably cast fireball at some point. It's an iconic spell. But what would it actually feel like to create fire from nothing, shape it into a missile, and obliterate anything from orcs to castles, to double-parked SUVs? I'm enjoying the heck out of doing more sound engineering on these visualisations. I hope you like them, too. Support the Show.

Sail the high seas and destroy a ghostly skeleton ship - ARR!
Welcome to Season 2! Over the past 15 episodes I've really enjoyed getting my voice recording and mastering right, as well posting the amazing work of Tanyth Withers. Go check out her yoga biz on insta, @yogawithtanyth!For season 2 I've finally pulled the trigger on a sound effects and music library, and forthcoming episodes will be much more immersive, which I hope will make the visualisations even clearer in your mind. Obviously, sound effects libraries aren't free, and neither is hosting Visualise This. If you'd like to help me make more visualisations, the best way to help is to leave me a good review on Apple iTunes, or support me on Patreon.com. Every little bit counts. :PSupport the Show.

Take a trip to the surface of the moon
Between SpaceX, Spaceforce, and continued interest in heading to Mars, I've been watching a lot of space movies recently. I thought a trip to the moon would be fun to write and record. It was, but it also took a lot of work, because it's real science, history, and technology that requires research. Hopefully I got everything right. Enjoy. Support the Show.

What's it like to cast a FIREBALL?
I'm a long time Dungeons & Dragons player, and truly believe that it's had an incredible influence on my creative career. My friends and I would get together every week on Sunday, order some pizza, and practice train our imaginations, tell stories, learn to act and improvise, and generally have a great time. As we all grew up, we moved away from each other, sometimes to different countries, and traditional D&D, with 5 or 6 people sitting around a table, got harder and harder to organise. During the COVID-19 pandemic, we've switched to online platforms to play, and suddenly D&D is back. I'm looking forward to writing and recording lots of visualisations that play in this highly imaginative world. It's not everyone's mug of ale, but I think even those who aren't into fantasy should give it a try. Who doesn't like the idea of blowing stuff up with magic or superpowers? If you'd like to hear more of this kind of visualisation, please let me know by commenting on the episode on our Instagram feed, under the username @visualise_this. I upload episodes to both channels, using IG stories. You can also suggest ideas and chat to me by becoming a patron on patreon.com/visualise_this. I've got a few different tiers up, including "Concert Lighter", "Molotov", "Moonrocket", and "Your very own flame". The names are pretty random. Support the Show.

Sit on a jetty and let calm wash over you
Another beautifully calming episode from Tanyth Withers. The writing is evocative and I find the occasional rumble of the passing trains in the background very calming. You can find Tanyth at www.yogawithtanyth.comSupport the Show.

Imagine a healing, calming light moving through your body
Huge thanks to guest contributor Tanyth Withers, who takes you through a really calming, 6-minute meditative visualisation. This is a perfect 6-minute visualisation for those who want to share a little light with the world right now. Tanyth lives in the UK and teaches yoga from home. If you want an amazing online yoga teacher, check her out on www.yogawithtanyth.comThe first time I did this visualisation was after a 60-minute stretchy-bendy class with Tanyth, so I highly recommend listening to this after a session. Making these episodes takes quite a bit of time. If you're keen more episodes, more often, please consider helping me spend more time on Visualise This, and less on freelancing.
