Baltic-EU conversations – Panel conversation „Conversation on the EU’s Role in the Future of Ukraine“

Baltic-EU conversations – Panel conversation „Conversation on the EU’s Role in the Future of Ukraine“

Russia’s war against Ukraine poses the greatest challenge to the European security architecture since the end of the Cold War and is a threat to Ukraine’s statehood. The EU has been unwavering in its support for Ukraine, swiftly adopting far-reaching sanctions against Russia, providing military assistance for the first time ever, and granting Ukraine the status of an EU candidate country. Yet there are significant divisions among EU partners, whether on arms supplies, the scope of sanctions, or visa bans. Some countries – including the Baltic and Nordic states – have sought to maximise pressure on Russia, while some other EU members have been more hesitant. The aim of the panel conversation is to outline the EU’s vision on Ukraine’s future. Discussion was moderated by Jean Monnet Chair prof. Ramūnas Vilpišauskas.

This discussion is part of the project "Teaching, researching and debating contemporary European issues" (TRENDS), co-funded by the Erasmus+ programme of the European Union.

The European Commission’s support for the production of this content does not constitute an endorsement of the contents, which reflect the views only of the authors, and the Commission cannot be held responsible for any use which may be made of the information contained therein.

-----

Diskusija yra projekto “Teaching, researching and debating contemporary European issues” (TRENDS) dalis, projektą (bendrai) finansavo Europos Sąjungos programa „Erasmus+.

Europos Komisijos parama šio projekto rengimui nereiškia pritarimo jo turiniui, kuriame pateikiama autorių nuomonė, todėl Europos Komisija negali būti laikoma atsakinga už informaciją panaudotą šiame projekte.
