<p>Roleplay merupakan kegiatan bermain peran yang biasanya menggunakan tokoh-tokoh fiksi dari drama, film, dan animasi. Namun kegiatan tersebut tidak hanya terbatas pada tokoh fiksi, tetapi beberapa pelaku roleplaying juga menggunakan identitas aktor, aktris, atau idol dari Korea Selatan dan Jepang. Orang yang melakukan kegiatan bermain peran atau roleplaying biasa disebut sebagai roleplayer. Dalam bermain peran atau roleplaying, para roleplayer tidak mempublikasikan identitas aslinya di komunitas roleplaying. Hal ini memunculkan fenomena baru yaitu fenomena genderswap.
