This is episode 4 of a 5-part series on chronic procrastination with Dr. Chris Jones. Today’s discussion is all about kids and how to raise our children to be intrinsically motivated. How to help them to achieve their long-term goals without pushing them in a way that turns them into future procrastinators. Parents want the best for their kids but finding the right method can be confusing. In our discussion today, Dr. Jones will answer questions like: Does Tough Love work? How can you guide your kids to be disciplined without harsh methods? How can you raise a motivated and happy kid with compassion? Dr. Jones has done work for Forensic Psychiatric Services, assessing self-regulation abilities and predicting risk to the courts. Dr. Jones has worked at Sunny Hill Health Centre for Children on teams disagnosing autism and other neurodevelopmental disorders. Dr. Jones' masters and doctoral research was focused on empathy, self-regulation, bullying and aggressive behavior in children.
