<p>Marlon Portales (Cuba, 1991) is an emerging Cuban artist graduated in 2018 from Havana’s Instituto Superior de Arte (ISA) with honors. Portales’ practice is multidisciplinary and includes media ranging from NFTs and painting to installation, video art, photography and performance. His views in the fields of politics and ideals yield works that carry evident sociological and philosophical quests. Ultimately, through his work, he aims at engaging the observer in a dialogue about different points of views as well as universally shared reflections.</p> <p>Recently he has devoted much of his work to NFT as an artist, project manager and collector. He is a representative figure of the Cuban community of creators and one of its main promoters.</p> <p>In recent years he had a several solo shows: "The Voyeur",in 532 Gallery Thomas Jaeckel, New York, 2019; “Museum”, in Origenes Gallery, Gran Teatro de La Habana Alicia Alonso, Havana, 2018; “Grand Tour”, in Galiano Gallery, Havana, 2017.</p> <p>He was bestowed with residencies such as Art OMI Residency at the OMI International Art Center, New York, New York (2015); Illy &amp; UNIDEE Residency in Cittadellarte – Fondazione Michelangelo Pistoletto in Biella, Italy (2016); and Fountainhead Residency in Miami, Florida (2018).</p>
