WTF is GMP?

Hello! I'm Evan Friedmann and I'd like to welcome you to Weed Wavelengths. Thank you for joining me as we explore the science and technology that will enable the hemp and cannabis industries to establish themselves amongst the other major consumer product verticals. If cannabinoid companies are to succeed they are going to need to employ the most aggressive quality and safety programs available. If these companies really want to embrace the ideals of the cannabis consumer, then they should be paving the way with innovation and impact awareness. The cannabis industry has a singular opportunity to define what an emerging new vertical stands for. If quality, efficiency, safety, and mitigation of environmental effects are baked in from the start then no one can stand against the product.

I've spent the last 11 years working with scientists and engineers, across the majority of manufacturing industries, take chemical measurements and improve their process understanding, quality, safety, and efficiency. For the last 18 months I have been exploring the realities and often surrealities of the cannabis landscape. I have met some amazing people and I have discovered quite a few true innovations, but I've also found some real knowledge deficiencies. Hopefully, by providing this podcast and its interviews with some brilliant people at the forefront of cannabis science, we can do a small part in helping to close that knowledge gap.

With today's inaugural episode we would like to wish everyone a very happy 420. This year isn't what anybody expected, but there are plenty of reasons to maintain a positive outlook and persevere through the hardships that the global pandemic has wrought. Now is an excellent time to regroup and start planning for the future. On today's show I'd like to present to you Part 1 of my interview with Andrew Samann and Justin Green of Orion GMP; followed by my interview with Jalen Tims of SoRSE Technology. Both interviews will touch on planning, taking data, and calibrating business decisions by using the insight gained from those measurements.

Make sure to listen to the end for a special discount on the new Cedar Wellness CBD line.

For more information on my guests and their companies please visit:

https://oriongmp.com/

https://sorsetech.com/
