He's a former fellow at Stanford and one of the original founders of the field of behavioral AI. In today's gaming landscape, AI characters have become a staple, featuring in nearly half of all titles. Yet, when these characters arrive in XR, they often plunge into the "uncanny valley" due to their stiff and scripted demeanor. With our recent VR game, "Space Companions", we've discovered that this valley can be narrowed by blending two emerging technologies. Behavioral AI endows characters with realistic motions and interactions in virtual spaces, whereas conversational AI equips them with the ability to participate in deep, adaptive conversations.
