#10 Ritualistic Healing of Rejecting Belonging with Malwina Biczysko
In this gripping episode of "Yalla Let's Heal," we embark on a heartfelt exploration of cultural identity rejection and the power of ritualistic healing teas with our guest, Malwina, pronounced correctly Mal(v)ina. Part 1: Embracing Belonging and Cultivating Understanding Malwina, is a holistic wellness coach and creator of ritualistic healing teas, who kick off the episode with deep dives into the intricacies of cultural identity and the pursuit of belonging through intentionality towards correct name pronunciation. The conversation naturally evolves to discuss the impact of cultural stereotypes and the need for honest exposure to diverse perspectives. Setting an example, Malwina bares herself in the rawness of Rejection by sharing personal stories and reflections from her own journeys, including the challenges faced in her family's remarkable immigration journey from Poland & Norway to Canada. Part 2: Journey of Self-Discovery and Cultural Identity In this second part, Malwina takes us on a soul-stirring journey of self-discovery, cultural identity and path to self-acceptance. With raw honesty, she acknowledges the privilege of not being a visible minority and how this privilege shaped her self-identity, leading to an idealization of a "white Canadian culture" rooted in colonial history. In her own introspection, Malwina delves into the painful rejection of her own cultural roots. The episode segment sheds light on the often-overlooked history of colonization and the resilience of indigenous peoples, igniting a call for greater awareness and understanding. The speaker reflects on her childhood, marked by struggles with their name and cultural identity, and the embarrassment they felt about their background. The narrative takes a poignant turn as Malwina shares a dark period from her adolescence, marked by substance abuse, association with a troubled crowd, being involved with someone from the correctional system, her regrets for feeling ashamed of her own family, culture, and how her own journey of personal growth has led her towards heartfelt gratitude for her parents' unwavering support during those challenging times. Cultural connections come to the forefront as Malwina reveals a deep affinity for various cultures, particularly Latin American culture and her passion for dance, especially as a professional Samba dancer herself. She expresses a profound desire to reconnect with her Polish roots and own path toward self-acceptance. Part 3: Unveiling Healing Potions and the Rhythms of Womanhood In this final part, Malwina captivates us through the exploration of the profound rhythms of womanhood, emphasizing compassion with boundaries and the energetic potency of whole plant medicine. Malvina's path led her to study herbal medicine, with internships both on-site and online, and even some ghostwriting for a renowned nutritionist in LA. Her holistic approach to well-being and connection with Earth promises a future filled with magic, rituals, and profound insights into the divine feminine while simultaneously dismantling hyper-feminism. Listeners are treated to a revelation as the host Isabella (Suzy) and Malwina explore the link between her childhood yearning for inclusion and her herbal journey, finding solace in plants' full, unaltered forms. Finally, the conversation seamlessly transitions into the four phases of a woman's menstrual cycle, offering insights into the Moon Time tea and its deep connection to feminine wellness. Malwina’s teachings shed light on the need to embrace cyclical rhythms and rest in a world marked by relentless speed. Through her erudition, she highlights the paramount significance of self-awareness, the profound act of introspection, and the unwavering pursuit of personal growth. This heartfelt tête-à-tête also underscores the imperativeness of healing dialogues and the embracing of one's distinctive qualities and blessings as immigrants and refugees. The discourse culminates with an enlightening anecdote, wherein Dr. Aisha extols the virtues of treating our parents with reverence and acknowledging their selfless sacrifices. She advises a conscientious understanding of our parents' backgrounds, struggles, and their personal healing journeys; advocating for open dialogues that address hurtful behaviors, all while affording our parents the opportunity to share their invaluable perspectives. Commencing the healing process within ourselves through a meticulous examination of our belief systems and reactive patterns becomes an indispensable cornerstone. The conversation further delves into the pernicious effects of disparaging comments, and unrelenting criticism rampant in the realm of social media. The deleterious impact of such hurtful messages is thoroughly acknowledged, as they can precipitate demotivation and instill seeds of self-doubt. Dr. Aisha, our esteemed guest, imparts wisdom on fortifying our mental resilience, recognizing the inherent toxicity of the digital domain. Delving into their own vulnerable encounters, they traverse the jagged terrain of coping with hurtful comments, proffering a repertoire of alternative approaches, including responding with unwavering love and understanding. This remarkable dialogue shines a light on the dissonance between individuals' online personas and their authentic selves, underscoring the insidious loneliness and precarious mental health challenges engendered by an undue reliance on social media for validation. The conversation astutely examines the societal and cultural pressures to conform and appease others, while underscoring the paramount importance of remaining true to one's essence. Indeed, an urgent call resounds to peel back the facade woven by social media and live a life steeped in authenticity, guided by the unique trajectory of our own journeys, refusing to succumb to the clutches of others' opinions. The guest eloquently espouses the significance of drawing strength from within, nurturing a spiritual connection, and recognizing that rejection is an inevitable facet of life that bears no testament to one's inherent worth. The dialogue concludes by urging listeners to redirect their gaze from external validation, instead discovering solace and confidence in their own purpose and their profound potential to affect positive change in the world.
