A weekly podcast, focused on the writings of a 'living legend' in the Christian book world...Philip Yancey. Each episode covers a chapter from one of Yancey's many works, focusing primarily on his lesser-known titles. Just because they're lesser-known, doesn't mean they aren't inspiring & thought-provoking (two qualities found in every Yancey work). Hosted by a university librarian whose faith has been shaped profoundly by Yancey...one reason he calls himself the Yancey Yokel.
In this episode, we consider the 2nd chapter from Yancey's very concise book about the church & its importance in the life of a Christian. Yancey uses his creative/thoughtful skills to suggest 7 updated images for the church, in an attempt to answer the question, What did God envision for the church?

In this YRWY episode, we take a break from our two-book rotation to consider an out of print title, called After the Wedding. It was Yancey's first book-length publication (from 1976)...when he was still in his 20s!

In this episode, we consider the first chapter from Yancey's very concise book about the church & its importance in the life of a Christian...something he had to learn (re-learn) relatively late in life.
