按照聖經的記載，在耶穌基督降生的那個夜晚： ***在伯利恆的郊外，有一些牧人在夜間看守羊群。主的一位使者站在他們旁邊，主的榮光四面照着他們，他們就非常害怕。天使說：“不要怕！看哪！我報給你們大喜的信息，是關於萬民的：今天在大衛的城裏，為你們生了救主，就是主基督。你們要找到一個嬰孩，包着布，臥在馬槽裏，那就是記號了。”忽然有一大隊天兵，同那天使一起讚美神說：“在至高之處，榮耀歸與神！在地上，平安歸與祂所喜悅的人！”（路加福音第二章8-14節） - - 耶穌基督已經成就救恩，將赦罪的平安和永恆的生命賜給相信祂的人。 這消息就如一位死囚知道了自己的絕境，因着特赦的消息來到，而大大的喜樂。 這消息是“關乎萬民”的，不分國籍和種族。 主耶穌基督是全人類的救主，願你今日就相信和接受祂， 真切經歷到這福音是一個“大喜的信息”，像那些牧羊人一樣， 得見耶穌的救恩，歸榮耀給神（路加福音第二章15-20節）， 成為神所喜悅的人，得着神所賜的平安。
