麦：虽然金石学兴起于宋代，但是，碑帖收藏活动不完全等同于作为一门学问的金石学。根据比较可靠的史料，收集碑帖的活动唐代就有了，例如，韩王李元嘉就大量收集碑帖拓片，只不过他的目的大概不是用于学术研究。所以应该说，碑帖收藏的行为可以追溯到唐代甚至更早，但只有到了宋代，才成为一种普遍的文化风气。 </p><span><br /></span><p style="color:#333333;font-weight:normal;font-size:16px;line-height:30px;font-family:Helvetica,Arial,sans-serif;hyphens:auto;text-align:justify;" data-flag="normal">唐：那个时候是不拿碑帖当文物的，毕竟当时去古未远。金、石要区分，北宋人主要关注金，即钟鼎彝器，而不是石。关注钟鼎彝器，也并不是关注拓片，而是关注原器。北宋人只是把碑帖当作资料，欧阳修写《集古录跋尾》，他不需要拓片，只需要文字，他就可以写题跋。 </p><span><br /></span><p data-flag="normal">陈：我记得李清照《金石录后序》里面讲到，金兵打过来，她往南逃，由于带不走太多东西，她必须丢弃一些文物，但她丢弃是有顺序的，具体记得不太清楚了，好像她是先把一些普通刻本丢掉，然后丢画，画丢的可能是一套的那种，再丢的是没有款识的青铜器，再扔监本书，最后实在拿不动了，才开始丢青铜重器。在金和石里面，我们会觉得吉金文字更高古，宋代人是不是也有这种想法？因为李清照最后才丢带铭文的青铜器，毕竟那个东西本身是很重的，按道理来说逃难的时候应该先把最重的扔掉，但是因为上面有文字又很古老，比那些画古老，所以哪怕它最重，李清照也要最后才丢。这种越古越推崇的观念，放眼后代，可能还多多少少有一定的继承。</p><p 麦：宋代人在收集青铜器的同时，其实也大量收集石刻拓片，我举几个例子。比如，欧阳修在《集古录目序》里就提到，泰山、峄山、会稽的刻石和汉魏以来的名碑都要“因其石本，轴而藏之”，石本就是拓片，他要把拓片裱成卷轴来妥善收藏。李清照在《金石录后序》也讲，她年轻的时候和她丈夫赵明诚经常去相国寺买石刻拓片。其实，不仅像欧阳修、赵明诚、李清照这样的上层知识精英收藏碑拓，就连基层的芝麻官也逐渐加入了收藏的队伍，江西泰和的一个县尉还是什么小官，叫陈吉老，收藏了一本《端州石室记》的拓本，后来送给黄庭坚了。北宋人对善本碑帖的追逐力度有时候真的不见得比清代人差太远，有一个叫荣咨道的收藏家，他曾经花二十万钱买一张《孔子庙堂碑》的早期拓本，二十万钱在当时可以说是天价了。但是后来再提宋代金石鉴藏史的时候，这些历史细节被大量遗忘，大家都只记得欧阳修、赵明诚，这其实是因为只有他们以及他们身边的那群人利用收藏的碑帖拓本来做学术研究，证经补史，跟后来清代、民国甚至当下学术界的玩法一致，所以才会被学术上的后生晚辈推崇、宣扬。其实，宋代人用到碑帖拓本的地方还是不少的，证经补史只是其中一个方面，就我个人的观察，北宋初期像徐铉他们似乎比较注重金石拓片的文字学价值，到中期，也就是欧阳修他们，更关注经学、史学价值，证经补史，到了后期，欧阳修的下一辈，像苏轼、黄庭坚他们，关心得更多的就是书法价值了。当然，这只是大概而言，不是绝对的，我们不能说欧阳修就丝毫不关心书法，根据美国学者艾朗诺的研究，欧阳修喜欢碑帖，其实也有书法方面的原因。 </span></p><span><br /></span><p style="color:#333333;font-weight:normal;font-size:16px;line-height:30px;font-family:Helvetica,Arial,sans-serif;hyphens:auto;text-align:justify;" data-flag="normal"><span>唐：刚讲到证经补史，“证经”的“经”指的是经文，过去我们中国人没有圣经，经书就是我们的圣经，也就是过去考科举要读的几部儒家经典。石刻刻到石头上，总是比传统意义上在没有印刷术的时候口耳相传或者写到竹帛上要正式。石刻上的“经”就是指古代几次刻立的石经。中国刻石经一共有七次，最早的一次就是东汉熹平四年刻的《熹平石经》，当时在东都洛阳立的，各地的读书人都可以来洛阳的官学来看，来抄写。那个时候各种经，像《诗经》《尚书》都有各门各派，皇家颁定一种经刻到石头上作为定本，所以石刻对校正经文、平息纷争有很大的作用，证经是就这种角度而言的。石经的拓本是历代都看重的。《人间词话》的作者王国维，其实也是一个很有名的金石学家，他在《魏石经考》里讲过一段话，意思是，拓碑这个行为，不知道是什么时候开始的，但是最早的拓本一定是石经。因为从文献的记录——唐代人修的《隋书经籍志》里面，就著录有《一字石经》和《三字石经》，《一字石经》即《熹平石经》，《三字石经》即曹魏正始年间刻立的《三体石经》，在那个时候就有官方的图书馆收藏石经拓本。</span></p><span><br
