Mateusz Żukowski w bardzo szczerej i trudnej rozmowie: - Było ciężko w domu, miałem różne perypetie z tatą, do tej pory już z nim nie rozmawiam. Ojciec bił moją mamę, było ciężko w domu. Mama jest po czterech operacjach. Ja nie lubię do tego wracać, mama często to robi i zaczyna płakać. Staram się ją wyciągać z tego, żeby już nie wracała. Mam też dwóch braci, którzy przez ojca zboczyli z toru, zeszli na złą drogę. Staram się też im pomagać, żeby wrócili na dobrą. - Miałem bardzo ciężko w domu i nieraz mama nie miała mi jak dać pieniędzy na obóz. Trener Andrzej Małecki rozmawiał z rodzicami innych zawodników w mojej grupie, składali się na to, żebym mógł pojechać. Jestem im za to bardzo wdzięczny. Pomagam siostrze i mamie, spłaciłem jej bardzo duży dług. Od małego mówiłem mamie, że jeżeli będę grał w piłkę i więcej zarabiał to będę jej pomagał, tak jak ona starała się dla mnie. Potrzeba było pieniędzy na buty czy 60 złotych składki za treningi. Zawsze wyczarowała z kapelusza, żebym mógł grać w piłkę. Było ciężko, ale to już jest za nami. Zapraszamy.
