曾經聽說過這句話：「凡是有海水流到的地方，就有留下華人的腳步，肯定也有中國人的血淚。」 我的故事，是從一個小地方開始，這地方叫做「死港」⋯ 而我的故事呢，與眾不同。我的背景，更是一個不可思議的，我在窮鄉僻壤出生長大，在一個家徒四壁的背景，由一対柴木夫婦家庭、抓襟見肘把我兄弟姊妹養大，讓我們去讀書，鼓勵我們子女去發奮圖強，教我們怎麼去做人。 1982年，我來美國求學。 四十多年以後，我幾乎不敢相信，自己處身於洛杉磯，這40多年來，走過生命最低的幽谷，也到過人生的巔峰，受過失敗的糾纏。在大學時代當選為學生聯合會總會長，居於萬人之上，在職場上得到瑞麥終身成就獎，成為地産界的精英，但也受到次貸風暴的打擊，元氣大傷，幾乎全軍覆沒。 現在以三、四十年在美國的生涯，經歷的路途，共同分享，共勉知指教。
