They literally didn't have it. And it was a completely crazy thing that a chunk of New York City wouldn't have cable. And it was solely because of a fight within mobsters. There were different mobsters who wanted it. And so they couldn't agree. And there was like turf wars over. And so my house didn't have cable. So I didn't see MTV until like I had a summer job in Massachusetts where I saw MTV summer of 88. And so basically before that, I had no relationship to hair metal. […]
