About these charts

Apple Podcasts and Spotify each publish a daily ranking of their most popular shows, overall and by category. Pod Engine records those rankings every day and republishes the top charts for the United States and the United Kingdom here. Select a show to see its episodes, hosts and recent guests.

Why do Apple and Spotify charts differ?

Each platform ranks shows by what its own listeners do, using its own formula, and neither publishes that formula. A show can lead on one platform and sit lower on the other, depending on where its audience listens.

What time are the charts updated?

Pod Engine records every chart once a day. These pages are rebuilt each evening, Pacific time, once that day’s charts are in, and each page shows the date of the chart it lists.

Can I download the chart data?

Yes. The Pod Engine API returns any chart by platform, country and category. Past dates and the full catalogue of charts come with a Pod Engine plan.
