The most important lesson Master Joseph Lupo Jr. received from his father was, "A black belt is worn around your heart, never your waist." This quote became the foundation that Master Joe lives by, and the basis for his show.
Master Joe is a sixth-degree Taekwondo black belt and owner of the New York Black Belt Center in Queens, NY since 2010. With over four decades of knowledge and insight, Master Joe interviews guests in and around the martial arts world, sharing their life experiences and philosophies to motivate listeners to become a black belt in whatever path they walk.

Taekwon-Do in Charter Schools: Grandmaster Robert Zang
Grandmaster Robert Zang, a 9th Degree ITF Taekwon-Do Black Belt, has made Taekwon-Do part of the curriculum at Provident Charter Schools in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Through his hard work and dedication, Taekwon-Do has become a way of life for everyday students.
A student of Taekwon-Do pioneer Grandmaster Park, Jong-Soo, Grandmaster Zang has dedicated his life to the International Taekwon-Do Federation (ITF) system. Tradition and the authenticity of the art are central to everything he teaches as the owner of Zang's Taekwondo.
The connection between Grandmaster Zang and Master Joe Lupo is a story in itself. He first discovered A Black Belt Way of Life as a listener of the show. He became a fan because the values he teaches match Master Joe's, along with the show's positive message. That shared outlook sets the stage for this episode.

"What is a Fighter's Mindset" with Taekwondo Legend Mark Williams
Returning to the new, improved Press Record Studio set is none other than the Taekwondo legend himself, Master/Coach Mark Williams. In this episode we dive deep into the fighter's mindset in preparation and anticipation for the upcoming seminar, "A Fighter's Mindset," led by the aforementioned guest and hosted by the New York Black Belt Center. Master Williams has seen success on both sides of the coin, as a competitor and a coach. Master Williams has extensive knowledge and experience that spans generations from all over the world at the highest levels of the sport.

His take on the fight is broken down from a physical standpoint, but more importantly, a mental aspect! From LAPD Streets to the BJJ Mat: Mark Mireles
Professor Mark Mireles is a 28-year-retired veteran of the Los Angeles Police Department. He is also an amateur Greco-Roman wrestling champion, a Judo Black Belt, a 5th-degree Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Black Belt under the famed Jean Jacques Machado, and a servant to humanity in the private and public sectors. This man's story could be identified as a real-life superhero.
Professor Mark Mireles has never shied away from putting his own life in danger to save another. Whether in the military or the rough streets of LA. Documented, he has saved 6 lives from the perils of death. Undocumented, countless lives in his Los Angeles Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Self-Defense Academy.
