A Girl Like Me LIVE Episode 47: Bone Health, Women, and HIV
Every day, our bodies remove old bone and add new bone in its place. After age 30, more bone is removed than added. As a result, the bones become lighter and weaker, increasing the likelihood of fractures or breaks. It is important that women living with HIV, especially those who have experienced menopause, pay careful attention to their bone health.
On Thursday, September 24, 2026, at 12pm ET/pam PT, Ciarra "Ci Ci" Brown and Lepena Reid discussed the importance of bone health and exercise for women living with HIV. We had a candid conversation on specific health markers that shouldn’t be ignored as we age with HIV.
