• Sermon: Great Is Thy Faithfulness (GTG 39)
o Trusting the steady faithfulness of God
• Primary: Lamentations 3:21-26
• Secondary: James 1:17
Chisholm’s hymn draws directly from Lamentations 3:21–26, locating hope within grief rather than beyond it. God’s faithfulness is remembered deliberately when circumstances suggest otherwise. That makes the hymn honest for people carrying illness, loss, and exhaustion. Its promise of new mercies each morning also becomes a call to practice mercy daily through feeding, welcoming, visiting, and other acts of faithful care.

Glory to God - Holy Holy Holy Lord God Almighty
June 7, 2026
• Sermon: Holy, Holy, Holy! Lord God Almighty! (GTG 1)
o Encountering the holiness of God
• Primary: Isaiah 6:1-8
• Secondary: Revelation 4:8-11
Heber’s 1827 Trinity hymn echoes Isaiah 6, moving from awe to confession, cleansing, praise, and sending. Both hymn and text show worship as God’s initiative and the congregation’s response. Isaiah’s confession is corporate, grounded in real political time, and connected to justice and welcome. The final call, “Here am I; send me,” establishes the series’ theme: hymns form the church into a people sent for mission.
