[…] So the money that they're going to raise from this mansion tax that they didn't implement it is essentially just going to be funneled into the bureaucracy costs of actually making sure people are valuing their properties correctly. But they're the two things they've got at the moment, and that's all they have. And the key problem is the mansion tax is only going to raise a few hundred million. The capital gains tax may raise a few billion to begin with, but of course will have a negative effect in the long run. So this black hole that they have is not going to be fixed by all these tax rights. […]
