Stop Seeking Miracles, Seek Christ as Life | Crucial Items of the Christian Life
Miracles reveal God's power, but what does God truly desire for our Christian life?
Throughout the Bible, we see extraordinary miracles. Jesus healed the sick, gave sight to the blind, raised the dead, and commanded the winds and waves. The apostles Peter and Paul also performed astonishing miracles through the power of the Spirit.
But why have such miracles become so rare today? And more importantly, should Christians be seeking miracles or something far greater?
In Episode 4 of Crucial Items of the Christian Life, we explore the profound difference between outward miracles and the inward experience of Christ as life.
While miracles demonstrate the Spirit coming upon believers as power, the divine life comes from the Spirit dwelling within us. Miracles are outward, instantaneous, and temporary, but the life of Christ grows inwardly, transforms us gradually, and remains eternal.
Just as a seed planted in the ground must grow and mature, Christ desires to grow within every believer, transforming us into His image and expressing His divine attributes through our daily living.
God's desire is not simply that we experience His power, but that we gain Christ as life.
Miracles come and go, but life is eternal. Seek Christ as life.

Crucial Items of the Christian Life - Episode 3: Anxiety
How do we overcome anxiety when it seems to have no end?
Anxiety can consume us, weaken our faith, damage our trust, and trouble our hearts. Just like aeroplanes landing one after another, our anxieties often arrive without warning, carrying fear, doubt, and mistrust.
In Episode 3 of Crucial Items of the Christian Life, we explore how anxiety damages our Christian living and hinders the growth of God's Word within us.
Drawing from the Lord's words in Matthew 6 and the teachings of the apostles Paul and Peter, this episode examines anxiety as a spiritual attack and reveals the importance of prayer, thanksgiving, faith, and casting our anxieties upon the Lord.
I also share a deeply personal testimony of a nearly 20-year struggle with panic attacks and how a simple word from the Lord brought me freedom:
"This is only temporary."
What does it mean to truly cast our anxieties on the Lord? How can prayer strengthen our trust, increase our faith, and help us overcome the fears that trouble us within?Join us as we consider these crucial matters of Christian living and learn to turn to the Lord when anxiety strikes.
We overcome in Christ.

Crucial Items of the Christian Life — Episode 2: Forgiveness
Welcome to Episode 2 of Crucial Items of the Christian Life, Season 2 of the A Place in the Wilderness podcast. In this episode, we consider the crucial matter of forgiveness and what the Bible reveals about forgiving those who have offended us.
Through the Lord’s Prayer and the parable in Matthew 18, we see that forgiveness is connected to the condition of our heart. God is full of love, compassion, mercy, and forgiveness, but an unforgiving heart becomes hard. Beneath that hardness can remain anger, hatred, pride, jealousy, and other things for which we have not repented.
The Lord calls us to forgive others without keeping count. Yet sometimes an offense can wound us so deeply that, although we know we should forgive, we discover that in ourselves we simply cannot.
What then can we do? We can cry out to the Lord for mercy: “Lord Jesus, have mercy on my hard and unforgiving heart. Become in me the forgiving One.” As we genuinely open to Him, He can soften our hearts and cause us to see those who have offended us with a different heart.
Let us come to the Lord to be saved from every hardness, allowing Him to uncover and deal with what is hidden within us and give us a soft heart like His—a heart that is ready to forgive.
