In this final episode of Liminal Spaces, we step out from behind the microphone to introduce ourselves and reflect on the Liminal Spaces journey.Meet Nick & JamieJamie spent 15 years as a Biblical Studies teacher and teacher librarian, is finishing her MA in Theology and Culture, and is completing her first novel. Nick served as a church pastor for nearly 30 years and holds a master's degree in spiritual formation. Together we are a blended family with six young adult children, living in a small, remote, rain-soaked town on the edge of the Pacific Ocean.Series RecapWe journeyed through seven weeks exploring liminal spaces, those threshold places between the old and the new, using Israel's wilderness journey as our guide.<ul><li>Week 1: Defined liminal spaces and how Lent itself is an intentional liminal season. </li><li>Week 2: Remembered Egypt and how good seasons can become places we must leave. </li><li>Week 3: Entered the disorientation where old landmarks disappear. </li><li>Week 4: Faced the long waiting, despair, and dark nights of the soul with Elijah. </li><li>Week 5: Discovered that life and provision are possible in the wilderness. </li><li>Week 6: Noticed signs of new life, pruning, and abiding. </li><li>Week 7: Stood at the Jordan, looking back at God's faithfulness and forward to the Promised Land.</li><li>The Triduum walked us through Holy Week: Maundy Thursday's new commandment, Good Friday at the cross, Holy Saturday's hidden work of God, and Easter Sunday's resurrection joy.</li></ul>Key Points<ul><li>The trust and daily dependence we learn in the wilderness is the same trust we need in the Promised Land, even when life is good.</li><li>God may be most powerfully at work when he appears most absent.</li><li>When we are broken and in despair, God often speaks very quietly, as he did with Elijah.</li><li>It is okay to honestly cry out and lament to God. Pilate gave him permission to take it. There was a garden in the place where Jesus was crucified, and in the garden was a new tomb in which no one had ever been laid...Following Jewish burial customs, Joseph bought a linen cloth, took Jesus down from the cross, wrapped him in the cloth with spices, and laid him in the tomb that had been carved out of rock.
