🐱 CATS is back in Singapore, and we're ready to spill the tea!
Direct from Gala Night at the Sands Theatre, TJ and Sam share their immediate reactions to Andrew Lloyd Webber's legendary musical.
With incredible choreography, phenomenal triple-threat performers and some truly unforgettable theatrical moments, there's plenty to celebrate about this production.
But does the spectacle make up for the show's famously loose narrative? And what happened during that iconic performance of Memory?
For TJ, it's his fourth time seeing CATS. For Sam, it's his first. And when the spoonfuls come out, their verdicts aren't quite the same!
Join us for a lively, candid review of CATS in Singapore.
Playing at Sands Theatre, Marina Bay Sands until 22 November 2026.

ASOT Turns Two! 🎉 – Our Year in Review & The Golden Teaspoon Awards
A Spoonful of Theatre turns TWO! 🎉
TJ & Sam are back in the studio for a special anniversary episode looking back at another huge year of Singapore theatre and A Spoonful of Theatre.
From moving further into video and the review that went viral, to the SG Culture Pass, the official arrival of the SPOONIES and your audience questions, we're taking stock of the highs, lows and theatrical chaos of Year Two.
Plus, we launch The Golden Teaspoons – our awards for some of our favourite productions and performances of the year – with the very special Platinum Teaspoon for those rare moments when TJ & Sam actually agree.
We also look ahead to Year Three: more interviews, more episodes with just the two of us, possible live events and plenty more Singapore theatre.
Thank you for two brilliant years.

The Radicalisation of Mrs Mary Lim-Rodrigues - "Spill the Tea" Theatre Review
THIS PLAY MADE US UNCOMFORTABLE. AND THAT’S THE POINT.
TJ & Sam spill the tea on The Radicalisation of Mrs Mary Lim-Rodrigues, a new Singapore play by Michelle Tan, directed by Edith Podesta for Wild Rice.
This is a production that refuses to let its audience sit comfortably.
Through a highly narrated, ensemble-driven style of storytelling, the play explores difficult questions around identity, education, mental health, suicide and the pressures placed on young people in Singapore.
For TJ and Sam, that discomfort became one of the production’s biggest strengths.
As TJ says in the review:
“This play does not invite you to be comfortable at any point… and that is exactly why you should come and watch it.”
The review also looks at the precision of Michelle Tan’s writing, Edith Podesta’s direction, Janice Koh’s detailed performance, the strong ensemble work and the production’s bold creative choices in sound, movement, set and costume.
It is a night that asks audiences to think, question and sit with difficult ideas long after leaving the theatre.
