The Lord appeared to Gideon while he was hiding in a cave, and called him to a mighty work. The truth is that there are many things that can keep us from the call of God on our lives - simply ignoring the call, our own fears and doubts or listening to people who point to our past mistakes and failures. But in Christ we are new creation, created to do good works that God prepared in advance for us to do. God reminds Gideon of who he is in Him, and he does the same for us.
Get out of the cave, it's time to shine.

A Time To Stop Wandering In The Wilderness
A the start of Deuteronomy, the Israelites are standing at the threshold of their promise. Their feet stood on the Plains of Moab across from the Jordan River - their last physical barrier before entering Canaan, "a land flowing with milk and honey". Moses recounts their wanderings in the wilderness and reminds them of God's words, "You have stayed at this mountain long enough". He was calling them out of a place of comfort and stagnation, into a new season of faith and promises fulfilled.

A Time For Judgment To Begin In The House Of God
There is a time and season for everything under the sun. As Peter said, "It is time for judgment to begin in the house of God". For years things have been swept under the rug in many churches. There have been detrimental effects from those who have caused harm to God's sheep, and their cries have reached God's ears. God is merciful and compassionate, slow to anger, and abounding in love. But after repeated warnings, that are not heeded, judgment is surely standing at the door. I have been avoiding these topics, but I would be in rebellion if I continued to stay silent, when he's asked me to speak. May we all remember the fear of the LORD.

A Time To Heal
There is a time and season for everything. After a painful time of spiritual abuse, betrayals, walking away from things that I loved, and a long season of isolation, God started lifting up the rug in my own life. As I started addressing the root causes of many of my issues, it finally became "a time to heal". We don't have to stay in a place of hurt and pain. After Peter was sifted like wheat, Jesus told him to go back and strengthen the brethren. Use your story, your pain, and your trials as an opportunity to help others heal too.

A Time To Uproot
Ecclesiastes says there is "a time to plant, and A TIME TO UPROOT".
In this episode we shine a light on some of the issues that we experienced within a particular church setting. We share some of the hardships and effects of sitting under what I later recognized as spiritual abuse. At one time we had been "planted" but after all that I had experienced, we could no longer stay, and had no choice but to "uproot" and leave. While it is difficult to share some of these experiences, and our intentions are not to attack or air grievances, we share because we know that it will help free those who have gone through these same kinds of experiences - as others stories I heard through the aftermath helped free me.
Jesus said, "Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free."

A Time To Die
"There is a time to be born, and a time to die." - Ecc 3:2
The truth is that when we are born, we have no idea what our lives will look like or the paths that we will take, but ultimately in the end, we will all stand before God and give an account for our lives. I ended going down roads that I never thought I would. Death was staring me right in the face... and ultimately led me to my knees. The sweet hand of God pulled me out of darkness and into his beautiful light.
"Let the redeemed of the Lord tell their story—those he redeemed from the hand of the foe...
Some sat in darkness, in utter darkness,
prisoners suffering in iron chains,
11 because they rebelled against God’s commands
and despised the plans of the Most High.
