Tripp has rejected mainstream comedies for most of his life.
Now, Ross is taking him film by film through the movies he sadly missed (or smartly avoided) until now.
Join us as we look at studio comedies from the late 90s and early 2000s. Week by week, we will tackle one (or two) films as Tripp tries to figure out what made them so funny and Ross explains the context Tripp avoided.
Our exit today has us trying to solve a murder at a snowy estate. It's that time of the season where Tripp picks an arty film to share with Ross, and he's gone as arty as possible. This week, we are talking about 8 Women, written by Francois Ozon and Marina de Van and directed by Francois Ozon.
Along the way, we talk French actresses, Cesar Awards, Agatha Christie, Douglas Sirk, pop music, Robin Williams, the Critics Choice Awards, and, of course, the grassy knoll and the JFK Assassination.

Dating Your Boss Romantic Comedies: Maid in Manhattan and Two Weeks Notice
Our exit today has us trying to find our future wealthy significant other. This week, we are ending our look at 2002 comedies by talking about a pair of December romantic comedies starring some familiar faces here at A Tripp Through Comedy. First, we are going to talk about Maid In Manhattan, written by Kevin Wade and directed by Wayne Wang. Next, we will discuss Two Weeks Notice, written and directed by Marc Lawrence. Both films were financial hits and cemented most of these stars as romantic comedy staples.
Along with talk about the four stars, we also discuss Norah Jones, Home Alone 2, New York landmarks, more Red Dragon, A Chorus Line, Coney Island, Gangs of New York, and Tripp names his worst cover song of all time!
